Quick Installation
This chapter outlines the minimum steps required to get your Squore server up and running.
To get the most out of Squore we recommend installing it on a Linux system for optimal stability and performance. In case a native Linux installation is not feasible, a Docker‑based deployment is available.
A Windows installation should be considered only as a last resort, when neither Linux nor Docker can be used.

This procedure considers that:

Installation
Note that <SQUORE_HOME> refers to the directory containing the application files, and <SQUORE_DATA> refers to the directory containing the data files.
|
We recommend to place <SQUORE_DATA> outside of the <SQUORE_HOME> directory (at least at the same level as the latter). |
Linux
-
Unzip the Squore installation package in the directory of your preference.
-
Open the command line terminal and run the command:
<SQUORE_HOME>/bin/install <SQUORE_DATA> -
Once the installation is complete, you can access the server web interface through http://localhost:8180.
|
Squore can be installed as a Windows service. For more information see Setting Squore as a Windows service. |

Squore can be installed as a Windows service. For more information see Setting Squore as a Windows service. |
License Activation
From release 26.0.0 and on, the licensing is managed by Vector License Client (VLC). Thus VLC must be installed in order to log into Squore server.
|
For more information about license activation see Licensing |
First Login
To log in for the first time you can use one of the default users:
-
Username admin | Password admin.
-
Username demo | Password demo.
|
For more information about users management and permissions, see Managing access. |
Remote access
With a default installation, the server is not yet accessible from remote machines. To enable remote machines connections you need to run the command:
<SQUORE_HOME>/bin/sqadm wildfly network --bind-address 0.0.0.0
The server will be accessible to other users through your Squore server host:8180.
Advanced Configuration
Squore can be customized to your organization’s needs. For more information about advanced settings like enabling Single Sign-on (SSO) or Accessing Squore via HTTPS, we suggest to read the Administration User Guide.
